Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum (RMQM) + Denver Metro MQG have teamed up to put on a quilt show in 2026.

- October 18, 2026 – January 16, 2027
- Opening Reception at RMQM: October 23, 2026
Goals for the Show
- Be as inclusive as possible
- Provide the museum and the broader public an amazing display of modern quilts
To Achieve the Goals
Everyone may show one individual quilt and one group quilt (where they were the primary maker ie: bee quilt) that fits the guidelines below, fits the theme of community, and is submitted by the deadline. Additional quilts will be accepted as space allows.
Each member of the guild may submit as many entries as they like. If you submit more than one entry please indicate your preferred entry, the nonpreferred entries will be juried, and inclusion in the show is not guaranteed for the additional entries based on space available. If you are planning on creating a 3-dimensional work please reach out to the exhibition committee to confirm we can display the work
Quilt Show Guidelines
- It fits the theme of community
- Displays the “idea or concept” of community – or –
- Is made by multiple members of the community – or –
- Is created by the help of multiple members of the community
- Original designs are encouraged, but not required.
- The quilt may not include messages of hate or violence towards any group of people.
- Minimum quilt size is 21” square.
- Maximum quilt size is 108” * square.
- Space is limited. We will do everything possible to include your quilt, however if you submit a 108” quilt it may not be included in the exhibition due to space.
- RMQM cannot accommodate irregularly shaped quilts or those with special hanging requirements.
- Entry must be available for the duration of the exhibit.
- Note: This may affect your quilt’s ability to be shown in QuiltCon 2027 due to overlap in timelines.
Show Timeline
- May – July 2026: Entry form open to DMMQG members. Submit a photo of your submission(s). The photograph quilt must be quilted and trimmed, if the quilt isn’t bound, please describe how you plan on binding the work. No late entries will be accepted.
- August 2026: Notification of acceptance along with RMQM exhibitor contract & consignment contract.
- September 2026: Quilts due September 9, 2026.
- October 19, 2026 – January 16, 2027: RMMQG Show
- February 2027: Quilts returned
Submission Details
Submissions will take place via online form (will be linked by May 2026).
Each entrant will be asked for:
- Quilt title
- Artist statement
- 2 photos of the submitted quilt – 1 full view, 1 detail shot
Accepted quilts require:
- A label sewn onto the back that includes (at minimum) the quilt title and name of entrant.
- Four inch (4”) hanging sleeve sewn ½” down from the top edge of the quilt along the full width.
- All entries must be clean and free of smoke and odor.
